Bee Weaver Apiaries are now accepting orders for bees, and I just orderd my 3 lb. package that will arrive in Austin the week of April 11th. There is actually a pick up point in Austin for Bee Weaver just off Far West which will make it super easy to get my bees and then go install them in the hive. This seems much better than having them arrive by USPS and less stressful for the bees as well.
Vegetable Moong Dhal Soup
1 carrot
3 plum tomatoes
1 baby bok choy
1/2 large onion
1/2 cup frozen peas
12 snap beans
1 turnip
1” piece ginger
1/3 cub split moong beans
2 TBS butter
salt
5 cups water
Chop all vegetables. Melt butter in pressure cooker, saute onions and ginger for 30 seconds. Add vegetables one by one (hard veggies first) for a total saute time of around 5 minutes. Add water and split moong beans. Pressure cook for 30 minutes. Cool slightly and then blend using immersion blender. Salt according to taste. Especially good with a little Tabasco thrown in.
I’m finally getting around to posting this year’s Halloween Party invitation. I went with a toe tag theme with a plaster cast of my own toe which is a pain in the ass. It took many attempts to get a good casting, but it ended up looking really good in the end. The other hard part was finding the right glue to for the magnets to go on the end of the toe. All in all, I was happy with the end results.
